Stop The Presses!

Hubby and I actually worked on our apartment this weekend! No way? Way! I think we're about half way to completion, which is very exciting, and I'm not feeling quite so overwhelmed. I think we could have gotten further if we hadn't gotten sidetracked putting up the Christmas tree--I've never had my own tree before so I was super excited. Hubby got it last year on super clearance for like $7, I shit you not. Marked down from $60. It has lights already strung in it and looks pretty nice. We dug out the box of miscellaneous Xmas junk to see what I'd been stashing away for the last ten years and hung it on the tree. Then we ran out to Walgreens for some glass baubles and a couple cute ornaments--a snowman with dangly legs and santa on a Hog. Then I raided my craft box for some ribbon and glittery poinsettias. Now I have a ton of glitter in my hair that I can't get out. Yay for Crimiss!!

Riot..I am so fucking jealous..my hubby makes fun of my yearning to buy a tree this year..I had about six of them at some point when I lived with my mom..but I think she trashed them..damn woman.
My hubby says that "no one will be seeing it" since no one comes over..ever..but I still want one..sniffle.
Speaking of glitter..I've been making x-mas cards all week..I look like a stripper at the Pink Pony..it's sad

That's funny because I've been the one all this time who's said we don't need a damn tree. But Hubby was persistent for a few years running and when they were on clearance for so cheap I gave in...You should have seen the look on his face when we got it put together and I put some ornaments on it--unadulterated childish JOY. Only then did I really "get it" about why he wanted a tree so bad.

I think you should just GO GET ONE, set it up while he's gone or sleeping, and once he sees how happy it makes you, I think he'll "get it" too!
